Star Wars is an epic space opera franchise initially conceived by George Lucas. The first film in the franchise was originally released on May 25, 1977, by 20th Century Fox, and became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon, spawning two immediate sequels, released at three year intervals.

Topps immediately acquired the U.S. license to produce the Star Wars trading cards and created over five series of cards and stickers over the next few years. This first series made in 1977 was a big hit and is a highly collectable set.
  STAR WARS Series 1 Stickers
The 11 stickers are the most difficult to acquire (similar to the Wacky Packages sets) as kids simply peeled and plastered them everywhere.
The front of each card features a blue and white border speckled with white stars, a black and red star burst with the Star Wars logo and a tiny black card number directly below. The bottom of the card displays a caption in white letters. Within the inner black and white frame is a color image taken from the 1977 movie.
