The Sixties was a fertile time for hit television shows, comic book heroes, and great sci-fi movies and it seemed like every other month a new card set would be released. My fondest childhood memories of card collecting occurred during this decade. Every nickel and dime I could scrape up, whether it was redeeming Coke bottles or carrying old ladies’ grocery bags from the neighborhood supermarket, was spent on a colorful wax pack of gum cards.
